This material is a Cobalt Chrome Molybdenum (Co-Cr-Mo) alloy used for machining and forging stock, especially in the medical implant industry. The molybdenum improves strength and heat resistance, while the chromium provides oxidation and corrosion resistance. This material is highly biocompatible, making it ideal for surgical implants such as knee, hip, and shoulder replacements.
This low alloy steel features high strength, hardness, toughness, and creep-resistance. Difficulty in machining is comparable to titanium alloyed steel. Custom precision ground sizes and tolerances can be supplied upon demand.
