Types of Zirconium Alloys:
Two main series of zirconium-based alloys are produced on an industrial scale: zirconium-tin and zirconium-niobium.

1. Zr-2 & Zr-4: Zr-2 is commonly used in boiling water reactors. Zr-4, which is nickel-free with increased iron content, is utilized in pressurized water reactors to reduce corrosion absorption.
2. Zr-2.5Nb: This alloy is optimized for corrosion resistance and strength, especially when niobium levels are maintained at specific solution limits.

All materials maintain strict impurity controls: metal impurities below 50 ppm, nitrogen below 80 ppm, and elements like boron and cadmium below 0.5 ppm to ensure optimal performance.
