Ti 6Al-4V ELI Titanium Plate is the extra-low interstitial version of Ti 6Al-4V. It is manufactured through careful selection of ingot raw materials with lower specified limits on iron and interstitial elements like Carbon and Oxygen. This grade is the premier choice for medical and dental applications due to its excellent biocompatibility, superior fatigue strength, and low modulus. Known as ASTM B348 Grade 23, it offers enhanced damage tolerance and mechanical properties at cryogenic temperatures.

Machinability: Use slow speeds, high feed rates, and ample coolant. Tungsten carbide or cobalt-based tools are recommended.
Forming: Can be hot or cold formed using hydropress, stretch, or drop-hammer techniques.
Welding: Rated as fair weldability.
Heat Treatment: Solution treated at 904-954°C for 2 hours followed by water quenching.
Annealing: Hold at 732°C for 1-4 hours, furnace cool to 566°C, then air cool.
6Al-4V ELI titanium alloy is widely used for medical devices and surgical implants, including artificial joints, bone plates, and orthopedic materials, due to its exceptional plasticity and biocompatibility.
